Juice and the Darker Side of 90s Street Style

Juice and the Darker Side of 90s Street Style

A hoodie, a cap, a pair of sneakers, and a jacket with room in the shoulders can look simple until the scene around them gets darker. That is the tension behind Juice and its connection to 90s street style: the clothes feel familiar, but the mood changes how we read them. At The Closet Inc., we looked at why this kind of screen style still pulls people in without pretending every shoe model or wardrobe detail is confirmed. What makes a fit feel iconic when it is not polished like a product shot? Why do retro sneakers, relaxed denim, sweats, and roomy outerwear still carry so much memory from that era?
The Pair Your Parents Said Was Too Expensive — and Why You Still Remember It

The Pair Your Parents Said Was Too Expensive — and Why You Still Remember It

You probably remember the pair before you remember the exact price. The store lighting, the pause, the parent doing the quiet math, and the sentence that shut the whole dream down: “That’s too expensive.” At The Closet Inc., we looked at why a premium sneaker like the Women’s Air Jordan 4 Retro “Shimmer” can turn into more than a product on a shelf. What is it about the pair you did not get — or almost did not get — that makes it stay with you years later?
Men's Air Jordan 3 Retro "True Blue" Drops July 18 at TCI

Men's Air Jordan 3 Retro "True Blue" Drops July 18 at TCI

The Closet Inc. is getting ready for the Men's Air Jordan 3 Retro "True Blue" on July 18, 2026 at 10 AM ET. This is a FCFS release, online and in store, at CAD $290. The pair comes back clean: premium white leather, True Blue details, red accents, elephant print at the toe and heel, and visible Air underfoot. Nike says the colourway is returning for the first time in a decade, so there are going to be people who have been waiting on this exact drop. TCI has selected men's sizes from 7 through 13 in inventory, but launch-day quantities will move while they last. The shoe has all the classic AJ3 style without being hard to wear. If True Blue is on your list, be ready before the clock hits 10. FCFS means there is no holding your pair once the release opens.
Kevin Durant, Drake, and the KD19 Candy Apple: How the Slim Reaper Got the Candyman Treatment

Kevin Durant, Drake, and the KD19 Candy Apple: How the Slim Reaper Got the Candyman Treatment

The Closet Inc. looks at the Nike KD19 "Candy Apple" (IH1117-600) — the colorway Nike rolled out alongside its May 2026 "Yes Man" ad with Kevin Durant and Drake, and the bridge to the upcoming Fall 2026 NOCTA × KD19 Pack. The bit in the May 2026 Nike ad was simple: Drake plays a fictional "Yes Man" delivery driver who finally gets KD to sign for a new colorway. The chemistry was the point. The shoe underneath — the KD19 "Candy Apple," listed at CAD $190 at The Closet Inc. across the size run — is also the point. The follow-up is the NOCTA × Nike KD 19 Pack in Purple and Orange, anticipated for Fall 2026. (The product is currently archived at TCI while restock timing is being confirmed. Once it flips to live, the same SKU will be the one we ship.)
Nelly, Air Force Ones, and the Song That Put St. Louis on the Map

Nelly, Air Force Ones, and the Song That Put St. Louis on the Map

The Closet Inc. looks at how the Air Force 1 became the unofficial sneaker of St. Louis — and why the city had been wearing it for a decade before anyone outside the 314 knew the shoe existed. Most sneakers become regional uniforms long after the brand notices. The Air Force 1 did the opposite: it was the sneaker of St. Louis first, and the rest of the country caught up a decade later. In 2000, Nelly put the shoe on the radio with "Air Force Ones" and the country heard what every kid from the Ville to Pagedale to the Hill had been saying for years — that the AF1 wasn't a sneaker, it was infrastructure. Our latest blog traces how a 1982 basketball silhouette became the most-worn shoe in one American city, and why it's still the same white-on-white on the same sidewalks twenty-five years later.
